*The activities will depend on the age and if the animals are available.

Important: The Zookeeper for a Day Activity is offered to those aged 4-15 years old. Entrance tickets are not included for accompanying adults. 

Junior Zookeeper Experience at Casela Nature Parks

It is hard to please everyone on a family holiday, especially kids! But the Zookeeper for a Day activity promises to make kids enjoy a day of fun activities with animals while educating them. Here's how it goes:

• Welcoming the Little Zookeeper - Upon arrival at Casela Nature Parks, kids will be warmly greeted by staff and introduced to the day’s activities by their dedicated zookeeper host. They’ll also receive a special “Zookeeper for a Day” T-shirt to wear, helping them step into the role and feel like real zookeepers. A safety briefing will ensure they’re ready for the exciting day ahead.
• A Day in the Life - Throughout the entire day, the little ones will be busy having direct encounters with the animals of the park and taking care of these fuzzy friends. From food preparation to feeding, this enriching programme teaches them how to care for animals whilst spending time in a biodiverse environment.
• Time for a Break - After a busy morning, children will enjoy a light snack of biscuits, juice, and water. A delicious lunch is also included, giving them the energy to keep exploring and learning.
• Feeding Session - Throughout the day, little zookeepers will get hands-on with some of Casela’s friendliest animals through feeding sessions. Depending on availability, children may help prepare food and feed llamas, giant tortoises, fish, goats and deer.
• Casela Favourites - Children will also enjoy the African Safari Truck Tour, spotting zebras, white rhinos, antelopes, ostriches, kudus, impalas & more, plus unlimited rides at Pangia Park for when they want to swap animals for a little extra fun. They also get either 1 ride on the Tulawaka Gold Coaster (6+ years) — Casela’s exciting 760m alpine luge ride — or access to the 4D Cinema, subject to availability.
• A Memorable Finale - The day wraps up with a group photo and a reflection session, where kids can share what they’ve learned and take home memories of this unique experience in the heart of Mauritius' African Savannah.

While the little ones enjoy their Zookeeper for a Day experience (available for ages 4–15 years), accompanying adults can take the opportunity to enjoy the rest of the park. And honestly, there is plenty to keep you entertained while your mini zookeepers are busy making furry friends.

Your entrance ticket includes:

• A unique chance to see antelopes, kudus, impalas, oryx, waterbucks, white rhinos, zebras, ostriches & more from the Safari Truck.  A Casela favourite!
• Access to the Pangia Park with unlimited family-friendly rides & activities for all ages. A Casela day is not just about animals! 
• A chance to see some of Casela’s most iconic residents up close, including lions, tigers and caracals at the Predator Kingdom.
• Either 1 ride on Casela’s famous Tulawaka Gold Coaster (6+ years), a thrilling 760m summer luge track with twists, bends and scenic views, or access to the immersive 4D Cinema, subject to availability.

Activities and attractions not included in your package are available on a pay-as-you-go basis.

Facilities:

• Lockers, toilets with diaper-changing tables, first-aid-trained staff, CCTV and complimentary shuttle service*

*Shuttles operate every 15–30 mins throughout the park, but long-distance rides are not recommended for pregnant women due to uneven terrain.

 As part of the Zookeeper for a Day package, little explorers will get to enjoy the following:

• Number of Participants: Minimum 2 pax | Maximum 7 pax (shared basis)
• Reservation must be done at least 72 hours in advance.
• You must arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the activity, otherwise a 100% cancellation fee will apply.
• The Zookeeper for a Day Activity is offered to Kids (4-12 years old) and Teens (13-15 years old). While booking, the child’s full name and age must be mentioned.
• Parents/ Guardians will need to fill an administrative form.
• Entrance tickets for accompanying adults are not included and must be purchased separately. These grant access to the park but do not allow parents/guardians to join the kids' zookeeper activity.
• The Safari Truck is complimentary with your entrance ticket and non-refundable if missed. To be noted, it is not recommended for expectant mothers and participation is at their own risk.
• Should the Tulawaka Gold Coaster be unavailable, clients will be offered access to the 4D Cinema as an alternative experience.

Health & Safety Notes

• Each participant must strictly respect the safety instructions and the rules of Casela Nature Parks. In case of non-compliance to the instructions, the Management reserves the right to stop the activity at any time without refund.
• Please do not scream, shout, kick, slap or jump up and down while in proximity to the animals.
• Participants must be physically and mentally fit; those with major hearing or visual impairments may not be permitted to participate. If the health and safety restrictions for your activity are not respected, "NO" refund will be considered. These rules are for your safety.
• Activities are still carried out in rain, and no refunds will be given if a client chooses to not participate. In the event of adverse weather, activities may be rescheduled for security purposes by the Management of the Park.
• IMPORTANT NOTE: Safety briefings are conducted in English, French or Mauritian Creole. Unless clients (who do not understand any of the mentioned languages) provide a translator, they cannot take part in any of the activities that include a safety talk for safety reasons.

Transport is available for an extra fee, with pick-up and drop-off from any accommodation in Mauritius.

How is the Transportation Fare calculated?

For transportation not included as part of the tour, the fare is calculated based on the set activity duration, the distance between your accommodation and the activity location (round trip).

Transport Payment

The payment for transportation is divided into two parts:

"Deposit": Payable at the time of booking, alongside your activity reservation. This deposit covers a portion of the total transportation fare.

"Amount Due to Driver": The remaining balance is payable in cash directly to the driver on the day of the activity. This final amount is calculated by subtracting the deposit from the total transportation cost.
